Sneak Peak of Top 10

Castlevania Nes Part II

Being a new game reviewer I didn't really realize that if I was going to review a game, I should probably dumb it down to certain facts, likes, and dislikes, flaws and wonderful things about the game, as apposed to going level by level, boss by boss. That would take forever what was I thinking :P, apparently I wasn't. So from now on when I review a game I will stick to the main point, THE GAME and whats awesome, and whats not so awesome.

Anyway there is a lot I can say about Castlevania nes. First I would like to say just how damn good it is, from fighting Medusa head to, mummy men, Frankenstein, death himself, a giant bat and Dracula, this games got it all, and those are just the boss's there are a ton of variety of enemies as well.

I will now focus on the game play, of this game and let me just say its almost perfect, if it wasn't for the damn knock backs I would give the game play a 10, but it doesn't get that because every time you get knocked back, 90 percent of the time its into a damn hole where you die. I personally don't think that should be your greatest hazered in a castle full of monsters. Also I would like to point out the stairs are a menace certain staircases like in level 3, you will just all of a sodden fall off if your holding up to long and you die, you just fall right through and die how is that possible. Other then those two faults the game play is honestly perfect, basic but challenging and that's what I personally like.

The graphics get a big whopping 10/10, although today there not much to look at, well I like them better then most games today but that's not the point. For its time the graphics were great, the visuals did a very good job giving you a creepy atmosphere that sucked you in, and kept you wanting to see what the next area would look like, I was and still am thoroughly impressed.
These are the most annoying enemies next to Medusa heads

The music in a nut shell it is magnificent and definitely does not get old thank you for a wonderful soundtrack, Konami I owe you one :P, 10/10 for sure.

All in all in the end, a 9.5/10 is what I give Castlevania nes, it honestly had everything and more, a perfect selection of enemies, cool creepy environments, neat boss's (my favorite being death that's so bad ass), and awesome music, but it falls short of a 10 only because of the knock backs the game. The game was hard but for all the wrong reasons, so in closing I just want to say this game is definitely worthy of the Castlevania series and worthy of its successors, so if your interested in a good game, and an entrance into an incredible series of games, hears where to start Castlevania 1 on the Nes.

9.5/10 (Stupendous) =E=

Castlevania Nes

Ok, let me just start by saying "wow". For its time this game was a revolution, and still is today. The graphics are great, the music is phenomenal, and the game play is basic and to the point. Just you your whip and a castle, but don't let the basics of the game fool you. This is one hard game, and anyone who played it understands why, as James Rolf the "angry video game nerd" has complained about many times and I agree with him, those damn knock backs when you get hit, that is your worst enemy.

Thanks for at least knocking me away from the drop :)

But lets get to the point so the game starts and you just know your in for a time. Fun but frustrating you better set aside some time and a bottle of advil for this one. Let me just begin by saying I absolutely love this game, and I enjoy the level of difficulty, but I get so aggravated with the knock backs sorry to bring it up again but for heavens sake why does everything knock you 2 feet back, but at least they have the heart to make you invonerable for a few seconds after you get hit. Anyway back to the game :)

Here we go!!!!

Hows that axe taste
So the first boss is a bat, well it is Castlevania so we'll let it go :p. But no seriously this guy is actually pretty tuff if your new to the game, he actually tricks you by swooping at you at random, sometimes one after another thats impressive game mechanics for its time, but      thank god for axes, once you beat him don't stroke your ego yet because there is much harder boss's to come, and a whole castle left to explore!!!

So finishes part 1, sorry its short unfortunately my computer just claimed some malware so i have to tend to it before I go any further in the game, but part 2 is coming I promise stayed tuned!!!
